Strickland plans Saturday campaign visit to Canfield Fair

CANFIELD

Ex-Gov. Ted Strickland, a Democrat running next year for the U.S. Senate, will be at the Canfield Fair Saturday, arriving about 12:30 a.m.

Strickland will start at the Mahoning County Democratic Party tent on the corner of Canfield and Beaver roads, and then walk around the fairgrounds with Ohio Senate Minority Leader Joe Schiavoni of Boardman, D-33rd.

Strickland is facing Cincinnati Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld in the Democratic primary. The winner will challenge incumbent Republican Rob Portman in the November 2016 general election.
