On Aug. 14, Bruce Shepas had a fundraiser for his candidacy for Austintown Township Trustee at Stacey Pavilion in Austintown Township Park.

Shepas, his wife and his two daughters participate in many community activities that his business, Austintown Bounce, supports or donates to.

Shepas is a big proponent of the parks, serving both past and present on the Austintown Girls Softball League for five years. He and his wife bring their 3-year-old daughter to play on the playground and splash pad often. In addition, they sponsor Austintown Junior Soccer League, Austintown Girls Softball League, Austintown Community Baseball and several high school sports.

“You have to support your community, schools and local organizations,” Shepas said. “I’m proud to call Austintown home and their is no other place I would want to raise my family.”

Shepas said he hopes to be elected Township Trustee and focus on road repair and park improvements. Shepas has a background in law enforcement and co-owns Austintown Bounce, which has also provided him with management skills to excell in business experience, as well as growth in integrity, character and values, which he believes are integral for for the position.

Shepas’s priorities for the trustee position are to continue to bring new business and job growth to the township, ensure the infrastructure is up to date, support safety forces with proper equipment, upgrade and utilize the parks to facilitate more family-oriented activities throughout the year, ensure Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course monies are managed properly, continue to have departments utilize grant funding, support the senior center and make sure the township has a balanced budget overall.
