Garden club to meet

St. Charles Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the St. Matthew room at the church, 7345 Westview Drive. Ellen Speicher from Fellows Riverside Gardens will discuss transitioning summer plants to indoors and fall gardening care and planting.

Car show Sept. 12

Dispatchers of the Mahoning Valley is sponsoring its third annual Cruisin’ For Crayons benefit car show from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Boardman Township administration building, 8299 Market St.

Car show participants donate school supplies in lieu of an entry fee. Springfield and Howland schools will be recipients of this year’s supplies.

Prizes will be given for best in show modern and best in show classic in both a car and truck class.

Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary will sell refreshments and food, as well as bring adoptable animals.
