Home invasion
YOUNGSTOWN
A Potomac Avenue woman told police she was held at gunpoint briefly early Friday after several men burst through her front door.
Police were called to the woman’s home in the 200 block of Potomac Avenue about 2:20 a.m. for a report of an alarm. When officers got there, they found a door kicked in but no one inside other than the victim.
The victim said she heard a loud noise, and when she went to investigate, a man crept up behind her and held a gun to her head. The victim told police from four to six men were inside, and they left before police arrived. It was not known if anything was taken.
Reports also said the power to the woman’s home was cut outside at the meter.
Hearing changed
STRUTHERS
Although resolution of a case against Bret Barnhizer, who is charged in Struthers Municipal Court with a misdemeanor nuisance-abatement offense related to construction work at his 12 Poland Manor property in Poland Village, was expected at a hearing Friday, that hearing has been reset for Monday because Barnhizer’s attorney was not present.
The village pursued legal action last summer after Barnhizer, according to the village, failed to comply with a nuisance-abatement request that was issued because renovation work at the property has remained incomplete since it began in 2010.
