Poland Union Elementary School teacher Sue Flacco is bringing other countries to the classroom via Skype.

Flacco’s son lives in Denmark and teaches at an international school, working with students aged 4, 5 and 6.

The two use Skype often and discussed this past summer using it for the classroom.

“Well my son and I have been Skype-ing and he just recently got this job at the international school, so we thought, wouldn’t it be fun if we could Skype?” Flacco said.

Flacco’s son had to talk about it with his fellow teachers, but successfully completed two Skype sessions since the idea was put into action.

“The school wants kids to have a lot of English influence,” Flacco said. “It’s working out perfect.”

Flacco said she thinks this is a great opportunity to bring different cultures into the company while discussing the fundamentals they are working on like letters, words and introductory phrases.
