Three Dog Night will not be canceled
YOUNGSTOWN
Three Dog Night has announced that its tour dates, beginning in November, will continue as scheduled following the death of member Cory Wells.
This includes the date at Stambaugh Auditorium on Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Wells died Oct. 20. Shortly before his death, the ailing Wells expressed concern about postponing or canceling shows and disappointing the group’s fans, and encouraged the band to return to their scheduled dates.
“Our hearts are heavy,” said Danny Hutton, the band’s founder, “But we are going to honor Cory’s wishes and continue. He’ll always be with us in spirit.”
The band was originally scheduled to play Stambaugh on Oct. 11, but that date was postponed due to Wells being treated for severe back pain.
Those who already have purchased tickets should hold onto them, as tickets purchased for the Oct. 11 date will be honored for the rescheduled date of Jan. 24.
Tickets for the concert still are available at the box office, by phone at 330-259-0555 and at stambaughauditorium.com.
Three Dog Night had 21 top 40 Hits in the early ’70s, with three reaching No. 1: “Black & White,” “Joy to the World” and “Mama Told Me [Not to Come].”
