Champion won the Kent Division III district championship at Arrowhead Stadium on a second-half goal by Lexy Gruver. It came with just seven seconds remaining in the contest and was assisted by Lauren Harkins. Kasey Rininger had eight saves for LaBrae (14-3-2), while Carissa Hurst notched one save for Champion (12-2-5) in her shutout effort. The Golden Flashes advance to play Kirtland at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Solon High School in a regional semifinal.

Canton Central Catholic 2, Crestview 0

BOARDMAN

The Crusaders won the Austintown district final by shutting out the Rebels at Spartan Stadium. Canton Central Catholic will meet Creston Norwayne in a regional semifinal at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School.

Hannah Brothers had 47 assists and Anna Sevek had 12 kills, five blocks, and 11 points for Southern Local. Lizzie Willis also contributed 18 kills and nine points, and Abby Smalley tacked on 11 kills and 11 points for the Indians. Katie Heistand had 17 points, 21 kills, and six blocks for the Knights, with 57 assists from Angela Farolino and 25 digs from Mary Kate McHugh.
