Ohio man found guilty in Craigslist robbery scheme
COLUMBUS (AP) — An Ohio jury has convicted the last of four men involved in a Craigslist robbery scheme.
The Columbus Dispatch reports Raphael Person Jr. was found guilty Thursday in Columbus of aiding and abetting, conspiracy, interstate robbery and use of a firearm in a violent crime.
Police said Person and three others bought cars advertised on Craigslist and then stole the money back at gunpoint and kept the vehicle in 2011 and 2012.
The Columbus man’s attorney argued that the co-defendants knew Person and lied about his involvement to get better plea deals from prosecutors.
The other three men have pleaded guilty and received sentences ranging from 17 to 30 years in prison.
