Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University will stage Dana Voice Day at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 7 in Bliss Recital Hall.

Students considering a music major or minor will have the opportunity to experience a day with Dana voice faculty and students, hearing Dana students’ solo and ensemble performances and choral performances. In addition, participants will learn information such as audition tips, what to expect if enrolled as a student at the Dana School of Music and acting and dancing lessons.

The event will conclude with an open concert featuring participating high- school singers, selections from the Dana opera workshop and a YSU musical-theater show. Audition and admission information will be available as well as scholarship and financial- aid materials.

Students who are interested in a private voice lesson (30-minute lesson) with a member of the Dana voice faculty should bring two copies of their music as they may be selected to participate in a private voice lesson or master class.

The fee is $10, which includes a box lunch.

Registration is required, and information is available by contacting Misook Yun, voice-area coordinator, at 330-941-3644 or at myun@ysu.edu, or Hae-Jong Lee, director of choral activities, at 330-941-3799 or at hlee.01@ysu.
