WARREN
A second person has died this year as a result of a fall from a high-rise apartment building owned by the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Roland Root, 43, who had addresses on the ninth floor of the Buckeye Building, corner of Tod Avenue and Buckeye Street, was found dead in the courtyard at 4:36 p.m. Sunday.
A resident from the Tod Building next door to the Buckeye Building said he saw the man fall and called 911.
Police found a chair against the railing of the balcony of Root’s room.
Root’s sister told police she had spoken to Root earlier that day and he told her he was having suicidal thoughts, and she was on her way to the apartment to take him to the hospital.
Shelley P. Flowers, 51, fell to her death from the sixth floor of the Buckeye Building in March. Her death also was ruled a suicide.
Root’s other sister, Stacy L. Root, 34, also died of a fall from another Warren high-rise apartment, the Elms, on Plaza Avenue Northeast, June 5, 2014. Her death also was ruled a suicide, according to the Trumbull County Coroner’s office.
