Saturday marked the start of the high-school speech season with a tournament at Warren John F. Kennedy High School. The results:

The top 10 teams: Canfield, first place; Austintown Fitch, second; Niles McKinley, third; University School, fourth; Poland Seminary, fifth; Liberty, sixth; Brecksville-Broadview Heights, seventh; Howland, eighth; Ursuline, ninth; and Fox Chapel Area, 10th.

Top six entries in each of these competitive events received recognition for their performances.
