GIRLS SOCCER

Division I

Canfield 3, Hoover 2

CANFIELD

Anita Mancini scored two goals for the Cardinals with an assist by Heather Haley. Mancini’s second goal won the game for Canfield in overtime. Ana Kilbert also scored a goal with an assist from Mancini. Goalie Olivia VanDevender had one save. For Hoover, Sachi Chaudhari and Lesley Kingling each had a goal, and their keeper had nine saves. The Cardinals will meet Massillon Jackson in a district final on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Massillon Jackson 2, Austintown Fitch 1

MASSILLON

At halftime, Fitch led 1-0 with a goal by Brittany McFall, but Massillon took the lead in the second half. Sophomore Brooke Parsons scored both of the Polar Bears’ goals off assists by Ali Haupt and Lauren Hattery. Massillon’s goalkeeper, Miah Wilson, had three saves, while the Falcons’ goalkeeper, Soriya Rezapourian, had six saves.

Division I

Louisville 25-21-25-26, Canfield 15-25-17-24

UNIONTOWN

The Leopards ended the Cardinals’ season in a district semifinal at Lake High School. Maddy Johns had nine kills and six aces, Emma Hartshorn had 35 assists, Morgan Leonard had eight kills and 14 digs, and Emilie Miasek had 15 digs for the Cardinals. For Louisville, Haren had 16 points, one ace, 44 assists, and five blocks. Cole had 17 kills, and Jackson had 17 digs. Louisville will play Massillon Jackson in a district final at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Massillon Jackson 25-25-25, Boardman 20-16-12

UNIONTOWN

For Boardman, Katie Platt had 13 assists, 12 digs, and three aces. Krista Johnson had six kills and 17 digs, and Kaylin Burkey had six kills for the Spartans. Alexandra Spencer had 16 points and three aces, Brooke Bailey had 17 kills and four blocks, and Julia Adams had 43 assists for Jackson.

Division IV

Southern 25-25-25, Western Reserve 17-21-21

COLUMBIANA

For Southern Local, Hannah Brothers had eight points and 30 assists, Natalie Utt had 11 points and two blocks, Lizzie Willis had seven points, 11 kills, and one block, and Anna Sevek had six points and six kills. Southern will play Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas in a district final at 6 p.m. Thursday. For Western Reserve, Alexis Miller had nine kills, Lainie Grope had nine kills, and Jenny Stubbs had 17 digs.

St. Thomas Aquinas 25-25-25, Wellsville 20-11-10

COLUMBIANA

For St. Thomas Aquinas, Bridgette Edwards had three aces and 10 points, Katie Hiestand had 10 kills and one block, Angela Farolino had 33 assists, and Paige Dempsey had 10 digs. Wellsville’s Kiki Perry had nine kills, Ashley Bennett had eight kills, and Regan Pierson had 23 assists in the Tigers’ season-ending loss.
