Davis was transported to an area hospital by medical helicopter. Buhn did not suffer any injuries. The patrol continues its investigation.

Panel opposes Issue 3

BOARDMAN

The Mahoning County Republican Party’s central committee voted to oppose Issue 3, which would legalize marijuana in the state, and the Youngstown Community Bill of Rights to ban fracking in the city.

The committee opposed Issue 3 because it would create a constitutional law to grant exclusive rights to a group of selected investors as well as concerns about the public health, said party Chairman Mark Munroe.

The party also voted Saturday to support Issue 2, which would prohibit the use of the state constitution to grant commercial monopolies such as the group backing the marijuana- legalization proposal, Munroe said.
