Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, senior spinning (I) and trip to Hartville flea market at 9, piloxing, bingo, painting class and quilting at 10 and lunch at noon; Tuesday, active exercise and pilates at 8 a.m., video class on thermodynamics at 9, S.O.S. at 9:30, bingo, quilting and beginner crochet class (3 of 6) at 10, line dancing at 10:30, chair yoga at 11:30, lunch at noon and AARP choir at 1 p.m.; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and blood pressure checks at 9, bingo, quilting and BP Express at 10, senior spinning at 10:30, yoga at 11, $3 pizza party at noon and TOPS at 12:15 p.m.; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class on inventions that changed the world, vets helping vets and wood carving at 9, S.O.S. at 9:30, chair yoga, quilting, crocheting and Halloween party with costume contest at 10, knitting at 11 and lunch/grocery bingo at noon; and Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, video class on western civilization and senior spinning (S) at 9, senior spinning (E) at 9:30, bingo and quilting at 10, Drums Alive at 10:15 and trivia/lunch at noon. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home, or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. The next meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 North River Road, Warren,. Reservations are necessary for the dinner at 5 p.m., which costs $6.50 per person. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will offer a free lunch-and-learn event at 11:45 a.m. Friday. There will be a free lunch, and a representative of Trumbull-Geauga Recycling will discuss recycling basics and its importance. Participants will make a closet deodorizer from recycled material.
