Park Vista plans TripleCare event

YOUNGSTOWN

Park Vista of Youngstown is hosting a demonstration of the TripleCare program and equipment, featuring Dr. David Chess, one of the TripleCare co-founders, at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rehab Center at Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave.

TripleCare is an after-hours telemedicine system that provides on-site care services to patients 365 days a year with immediate access to a physician. TripleCare ensures that nonemergent conditions are identified, stabilized and treated so that unnecessary re-hospitalizations do not occur, Park Vista officials said.

Park Vista of Youngstown and its parent company, Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, say they are the first Ohio Continuing Care Retirement Community system to introduce TripleCare.

Renovations done at basketball courts

LOWELLVILLE

The outdoor basketball courts at Lowellville schools complex have undergone a face lift.

The renovations, which included resurfacing, leveling, painting and new rims and backboards, totaled around $35,000 and were made possible by donations from the DeFrank family, Lowellville Village Council and the Lowellville Board of Education, said Superintendent Eugene Thomas.

Dick’s Sporting Goods in Boardman donated equipment.

Domenic DeFrank, a 2014 Lowellville High School graduate, won a “Rise with the Rose” photo contest sponsored by Powerade. The prize was $25,000 to be spent on refurbishing a sports facility of his choice. Domenic DeFrank decided to dedicate the basketball court renovations in memory of his father, John DeFrank Jr.
