Music festival
WARREN
Mahoning Valley Association of Churches will sponsor a sacred music festival at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St.
Participating choirs will be a chime choir of residents from Shepherd of the Valley retirement community, a combined choir of St. Paul Lutheran and Emmanuel Lutheran Church and men’s choir of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, all Warren; Living Lord Lutheran Church in Howland; and youth choir from New Bethel Baptist Church in Youngstown.
A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the program.

The Society of St. John Chrysostom, Youngstown Warren Chapter, will present “Peter, Andrew and the People in the Pews” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 7782 Glenwood Ave.
Speaker will be Bishop John Michael (Botean) of the Eparchy of St. George for the Romanians, Canton. He also will comment on Pope Francis’ visit to the United States.

On vocations
YOUNGSTOWN
From Nov. 1-7, National Vocation Awareness Week will be celebrated throughout the United States. It offers those of the Catholic faith a time in parishes and schools to recognize and foster vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life.
On Nov. 4, the six dioceses of Ohio (Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Steubenville, Toledo and Youngstown) will pray as one for an increase of vocations at select parishes in each diocese. Catholics from across the state will have time for adoration and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament and focus on an increase in priestly and religious vocations throughout their diocese, the state of Ohio and the United States.
Valley observances will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes, 200 E. Main St., East Palestine; 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., of Christ Our Savior Parish in Struthers; and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 1234 High St. NE, Warren.

The Pastor’s Aide Ministry of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 110 Funston St., will sponsor a pastor and ministers sing-out at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Faith festival

Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., will host the Rev. Jeffery Stanford, pastor, and the Fresh Church for the Fall Faith Festival planned from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31, as a safe alternative to Halloween. Children will be blessed. The event is free.
