Police arrest 7, discover 5 guns as Vice Squad serves warrants


YOUNGSTOWN — Police arrested seven people and found five guns while serving two search warrants Thursday on the South Side.

Members of the Vice Squad serving search warrants investigating drug activity found 38 doses of heroin and two loaded 357-Magnum revolvers in a 652 St. Louis Ave. home about 5:35 p.m. on Thursday. Two people were arrested there.

At a 116 E. Philadelphia Ave. home at about 6:10 p.m., officers found a .40-caliber handgun, a sawed-off .12-gauge shotgun and a loaded SKS assault rifle.

Five people were arrested there.
