Library reopens with continuing renovations
The Boardman library reopened for public use at 9 a.m. on Wednesday as work at the front of the building is complete, but Phase II of the renovation project continues.
Patrons entering the library will notice many changes, but should be advised that the renovation is not complete and work will be underway within the building once reopened.
Phase II of the renovation project is continuing with items which include new furnishings, shelving and display units, children’s area Early Literacy play elements, outdoor areas, new seating and iPads for the teen area.
The library closed temporarily on Sept. 28 and involved work that could not be done if the library was open, such as the front entrance and sidewalks, replacing bathrooms, floor work and more on the front end of the building.
The library’s goal throughout this project has been to keep the branch open for the public as much as possible, even while work is being done within the building.
The branch is now able to reopen for public service and the renovation project continues.
