The Boardman Township Police Department and Boardman Park each have a levy renewal on the Nov. 3 ballot. The school district seeks two levy renewals.

POLICE

The township seeks a five-year renewal of the 3.85-mill levy.

The levy generates roughly $3.4 million per year, which makes up just under half of the police department’s annual operating budget.

The levy originally passed in 2011.

The police department has 58 officers; 11 officers joined the force after the levy passed in 2011.

The cost to the owner of a $100,000 home is roughly $118 per year.

PARK

Boardman Park seeks a five-year renewal of a 0.6-mill levy.

The levy generates $541,725 per year, which accounts for roughly 45 percent of the park’s annual operating budget.

The levy originally passed in 1980, along with a 0.3-mill levy; together, the two represent the park’s entire voted millage.

The park has 10 full-time and 12 part-time employees.

The cost to the owner of a $100,000 home is $18.38 per year.

SCHOOLS

The school district seeks five-year renewals of 5.9-mill and 6-mill emergency operating levies.

The 5.9-mill levy, approved in 1996, generates $3,905,538.

The 6-mill levy, approved in 1991, generates $3,274,834.

The cost to the owner of a $100,000 home for the 5.9-mill levy is roughly $181 per year.

The cost to the owner of a $100,000 home for the 6-mill levy is roughly $184 per year.
