Three summers removed from its 50th anniversary tour, the Beach Boys are still looking for “Fun, Fun, Fun.” That journey includes a return to the Mahoning Valley for a Saturday show at Packard Music Hall in Warren.

The Rock Hall inductees are naturally known for helping create the soundtrack to the ’60s with top-40 hits including “Surfin’ Safari,” “Surfin’ USA,” “Surfer Girl,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” “Be True to Your School,” “In My Room,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around,” “Dance Dance Dance,” “Help Me Rhonda” and “California Girls.”

Here are 10 things maybe you didn’t know about the Beach Boys.

  1. The Beach Boys started in the early ’60s under the band name the Pendletones.

  2. “Surfin’ Safari,” which was a top-15 hit, was actually the B-side to single “409.”

  3. The Beach Boys’ 1965 song “Amusement Parks USA” includes a reference to Northeast Ohio’s Euclid Beach Park.

  4. Even though it’s heralded as one of the best albums of all time, 1966’s “Pet Sounds” wasn’t a No. 1 hit.

  5. During the 1980s, the Beach Boys often played at the White House and the nation’s annual Independence Day celebration.

  6. The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

  7. Also in 1988, the Beach Boys enjoyed a resurgence of interest when their song “Kokomo,” which was featured in the movie “Cocktail,” became a No. 1 hit.

  8. Guitarist Al Jardine’s recent solo debut effort, “A Postcard from California,” features Brian Wilson, Neil Young, Steve Miller, Flea, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Alec Baldwin and John Stamos.

  9. Beach Boys singer Mike Love is uncle to Cleveland Cavaliers player Kevin Love.

  10. Next year Love is set to release his autobiography, “Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy.”
