Students will ‘have more chill’ if Malia Obama goes to Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I.

Brown University’s campus newspaper has apologized to Malia Obama after students posted on social media that she was partying during a college visit.

A photo that circulated online purportedly shows the president’s daughter standing next to a table with cups at an Oct. 10 party.

People who say they attended wrote on Twitter that Malia played beer pong.

A story about the tweets said Brown students had “no chill” because they didn’t leave her alone during the visit.

The Brown Daily Herald published an editorial Tuesday with the headline “Sorry, Malia Obama.”

It says it’s a shame Malia couldn’t enjoy herself at Brown without students posting pictures online and news outlets writing about it.

It says if the president’s daughter ever returns, hopefully next time “we will ‘have more chill.’”

Man, woman charged with theft left name in gallery guestbook

PALM BEACH, Fla.

Authorities say a man and woman left the woman’s name and telephone number in the guestbook of a South Florida art gallery before stealing about $6,000 worth of jewelry.

Palm Beach police say 24-year-old Megan Ohara and 19-year-old David Ziskowski took a bracelet and a ring Sunday from the Attila JK exhibition at the ICFA Gallery. They were spotted a short time later at a nearby grocery, and police reported finding the jewelry in the woman’s purse.

Officers found multiple fake email addresses and at least one obscene drawing in the gallery’s guestbook. The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that two of the fake emails included the name “Meg,” and one included Ohara’s phone number.

Ohara and Ziskowski were arrested and charged with grand theft. Jail records didn’t list attorneys.

Denver woman gets ticket related to her stolen SUV

DENVER

A Denver woman says police mailed her a ticket after photo radar caught her SUV speeding. But it wasn’t her behind the wheel – the vehicle was stolen weeks before.

Denver news station KMGH-TV reported Monday that Melissa Gonzales got the ticket showing her 2014 Ford Explorer going 85 in a 45-mph zone Sept. 15, about two weeks after it was taken from outside her home.

She hopes someone recognizes the four males in the photo, but she says it’s a little upsetting to see them smiling.

Gonzales says her SUV also got a parking ticket and triggered a $9.20 toll in the Denver area last month. Both were mailed to her.

She says the paper trail makes it seem as if whoever is driving wants to be found.
