Joint replacement

Free Wellness Day

The Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center, 755 Boardman-Canfield Road., Suite D3, Southbridge West Complex, is offering a free community Wellness Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The event includes educational workshops, a wellness assessment, body-fat analysis and complimentary light refreshments.
The educational workshops include a seminar, “Natural Cold and Flu Solutions,” at 9:30 a.m. presented by Dr. Ted Suzelis, and a live acupuncture demonstration at 10:30 a.m. by naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist Valentina Khoury Dubasik.

Wellness seminar

The Howland Health & Wellness Committee will begin its wellness seminar series at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Shepherd of the Valley – Howland, 4100 N. River Road. Refreshments are provided, and the event is free and open to the public.
Kristen Taylor, Trumbull County coordinator for the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP), is the presenter. OSHIIP, a branch of the Ohio Department of Insurance, provides free information and other health insurance services to people covered by Medicare.

Give A Coat effort

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley & Western Pennsylvania, in partnership with Walmart, is helping local youths keep warm this winter season through its sixth annual Give A Coat Program in October and November.
New coats will be distributed, in partnership with the Salvation Army, to local youths in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties. To be eligible for a free winter coat, recipients must meet Salvation Army income-eligibility guidelines.
Parents must pre-register to pick up a coat for their child by contacting the Salvation Army in their county: Mahoning, 330- 746-8403; Columbiana, 330-623-7470; and Trumbull 330-392-1573. Walk-ins are not accepted.
Pickup time is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locations and dates are: Saturday: Mahoning County, Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown; Oct. 31: Columbiana County, Lions Club, 38240 Industrial Park Road, Lisbon; Nov. 7: Trumbull County, Salvation Army, 270 Franklin St., Warren.
