Rebecca Catherine Swierz and Steven Joseph Margevicius exchanged vows at noon Aug. 22 at St. James Catholic Church. Celebrant was the Rev. Michael A. Swierz of Youngstown, the bride’s uncle, and concelebrants were the Revs. Thomas S. Margevicius of St. Paul, Minn., the groom’s uncle, and Joseph Workman of Lakewood.

A reception followed at the Patterson Fruit Farm in Chesterland, Ohio.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas Swierz of Poland and Karen (Glova) Swierz of Struthers. The groom is the son of Mike and Lori Margevicius of North Royalton, Ohio.

The bride wore a gown with a trumpet silhouette and sweetheart neckline, decorated in primrose lace and edged in French Chantilly lace. She changed into a blush and champagne-colored draped linen and cotton ball gown with a layered skirt and lace bodice for the reception.

The bride has changed her legal name to Rebecca Swierz Margevicius.

The groom’s sister, Allison Margevicius, was honor attendant. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Cheryl and Christina Swierz, and Maddie Sofia, Kara Cocco and Alex DiLuciano. The attendants wore pale pink dresses.

Randall Kibler performed duties of best man. Groomsmen were Dan Margevicius, the groom’s cousin; Tom Margevicius, the groom’s brother; Chris Kmieck; Ben Friedman; and Jose Vega. Ushers were Andy Crnobrnja and Parke Grocott.

The bride and groom both earned doctorates of pharmacy from the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy. She is a pharmacy clinical specialist at Southwest General in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and he is a pharmacist and anticoagulation supervisor at Veterans Affairs in Cleveland.

The couple took an eastern Caribbean cruise for a wedding trip and live in Lakewood.
