Mass and family event mark 50th for Pepperneys
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pepperney
CANFIELD
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pepperney of Poland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a Mass at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown with Bishop George V. Murry as celebrant.
A family dinner was at Caffe Capri in Boardman with their children and spouses, Jim and Christy Pepperney of Poland, Jeff and Kristen Pepperney of Powell, Ohio, and Jennifer and John Matyasovsky of New Wilmington, Pa., and seven grandchildren, Lauren, A.J. and Jack Pepperney, Luke and Mark Pepperney and Mary and Will Matyasovsky.
The former Jeanne A. Holley and Mr. Pepperney were married May 22, 1965, at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.
Mrs. Pepperney taught at Boardman and Lords town high schools. She graduated cum laude from Youngstown State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.
She teaches part time with the ABLE Program in Youngstown City Schools.
Mr. Pepperney retired from Jackson-Milton Local Schools after 28 years in the vocation education program and as head basketball and baseball coach. He also taught five years at Ursuline High School in Youngstown.
He graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from YSU.
