Local author sets book signing for Wednesday

Local author Patricia Ringos Beach will have a signing of her book, “Images of America: Struthers Revisited,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Barnes & Noble, 381 Boardman-Poland Road.

The book features images of important local figures and locations in Struthers, donated from the Struthers Historical Society’s collection as well as from local residents.

Profits from the book will be used by the historical society to digitalize its photo collection.

New meeting place for Monday Night Writers

CANFIELD

Monday Night Writers will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Tequila Jalisco Mexican Restaurant, 583 E. Main St., a new meeting location. Published and unpublished local writers are welcome.

Nancy Christie, author of “Traveling Left of Center and Other Stories,” will lead sessions on writing exercises, information on creative and business aspects of writing, and group feedback on works in progress. Book launch and class scheduled for Nov. 12

Jamie Marich, author of “Dancing Mindfulness: A Creative Path to Healing and Transformation,” will have a book launch celebration and class at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Body Bliss Connection School of Yoga and Health, 1891 Niles-Cortland Road NE. Cost of the class is $8. A meet-and-greet with the author will follow, and signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Marich is a clinical counselor with a private practice in Howland who leads trainings and retreats on trauma, addiction and mindfulness worldwide. Marich actively trains facilitators in Dancing Mindfulness practice, a program that mixes dance, personal exploration and mindfulness principles.
