STRUTHERS
An “Imagine with Us” program at Struthers Elementary school will offer tips and tricks for encouraging early literacy and will be open to 3- to 4-year-old children and their parents. The event is a partnership between the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County and the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley as part of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Initiative. It is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and will include story time and activities for children, prizes and opportunities to check out books and sign up for a library card.
Panera Bread and Covelli Enterprises will provide dinner. Other sponsors include the Italian Education Foundation, Jane F. Lamb Charitable Foundation and the William M. Neckerman Charitable Foundation.

Crash closes road
YOUNGSTOWN
A car crashed into a pole and a fire hydrant downtown, after the driver lost control about 9 a.m. Saturday.
Officials closed a portion of Mahoning Avenue near where the accident occurred due to low-hanging wires.
No other information was available late Saturday.
