TRUMBULL COUNTY || Union has tentative pact with Delphi for 2 plants

Staff report

The IUE-CWA Local 717 has reached a tentative agreement with Delphi Packard for two Trumbull County plants.

The agreement was reached Friday after days of long negotiation talks, which have been ongoing for five weeks for the contract that expired Monday.

In the days after the expiration, union and company negotiation teams met for hours to come to an agreement while about 660 workers at the Delphi plants in Vienna and Warren worked on an hour-by-hour contract extension.

The four-year pact affected workers at the plants on Larchmont Avenue in Warren and Aero Park Drive in Vienna.

“We are happy with what we fought for to get our members,” said Ed Salus, president of IUE-CWA Local 717.

Salus said the union executive board will meet and be given highlight sheets on the contract, and the union will start distributing highlight sheets Monday morning in the plants before workers vote.

Salus declined to reveal any specifics on the contract until the membership votes.
