Munnell Run Farm offers events

MERCER, PA.

Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road, has set two late October events.

An autumn cookies and crafts class is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26.

Guests will decorate cookies baked by QT Cakes in Sandy Lake, Pa., with salted caramel buttercream icing. Recipes will be provided.

Participants will then decorate pumpkins with metallic leaves, and environmental educators will discuss autumnal changes.

Cost is $2 and includes all materials. Registration is required by Thursday.

Corn tassel wreath classes are planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 24.

Registration is closed for Wednesday’s class. Those interested in the Oct. 24 class must register and pay by Monday. Cost is $30. To register for the events, call 724-662-2242. Make checks payable to Munnell Run Farm and send to 24 Avalon Court, Suite 300, Mercer, PA 16137.

Lions present awards to clubs

POLAND

District 13D, Zone 5 Lions recently gathered for a Zone Meeting, hosted by Poland Lions Club.

District Governor Bob Allgood of East Liverpool Lions and District Governor Betty Robbins of Newton Falls Lions Club were the speakers.

Past District Governor Tom Zickefoose of Girard Lions and president of the District’s Melvin Jones Eye Care Foundation presented awards to the Poland, Canfield and Boardman clubs for their accomplishments. Poland Lions President Monica Maholtz received a patch and date rocker for the club’s donation to the foundation. Canfield Lions President Mike Hoffman received a date rocker for the club’s consecutive years of donating to the foundation.

Austintown Rotary installs new member

AUSTINTOWN

Chuck Baker, a veteran member of Austintown Rotary Club, installed new member Christine Gaca on Sept. 21 at The Manor Restaurant, 3104 S. Canfield-Niles Road, where meetings take place at noon Mondays.

Mark Cole is her sponsor.

The speaker was Janice Jasinski of Schroedel, Scullin and Bestic, who spoke about identity theft and how to avoid it.
