Lily Pond area to close for about 10 weeks for upgrades

YOUNGSTOWN

The Lily Pond area and connecting hiking trails at Mill Creek MetroParks will be closed for about 10 weeks beginning Monday for construction work.

The project aims to make the Lily Pond area more accessible for users of all abilities.

The park will add boardwalks and observation decks to the area, and will improve sections of the trail around the pond.

The park also will add benches, a drinking fountain and an information kiosk.
