YOUNGSTOWN
Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave., will celebrate its 95th anniversary with the theme of “Praise, Pray, Purpose.”
Morning worship will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Rozier, associate minister of First Baptist Church.
A banquet is planned at 3 p.m. at the Brentford House, 737 Myron St., Hubbard. The Rev. Willie Peterson of the New Birth Kimmelbrook Baptist Church will speak.

YOUNGSTOWN
The adult choir of Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2003 Wilson Ave., will mark “the wedding of the century ... behold the bridegroom” at 4:30 p.m. next Saturday. The event will highlight Jesus’ return to the church. Jewel Stevens is director; Edna Stevens Hamlette, minister of music; and D.H. Anderson, pastor.
Healing service
POLAND
A healing service is planned at 6 p.m. next Saturday at the Church of the Rock, 7025 Luteran Lane. At 5 p.m., there will be a “meet and greet” with Terri Roberts, mother of Charles Roberts IV, who killed 10 Amish schoolchildren in Nickle Mines, Pa. Roberts will share her testimony in her journey that included cancer and forgiveness. Her book, “Joy Through Adversity,” will be available.
Movie planned
NORTH LIMA
North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will show the movie, “Do You Believe?” at 6 p.m. Sunday. It is PG-13 rated. An appropriate movie for children will be shown at the same time.
Disciple Fest
CANFIELD
Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St., will host Disciple Fest 2015 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. next Saturday. Eastminster Presbytery is the sponsor. Keynote address will take place at 9:45 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Bailey, a minister in the Presbyterian Church. For 20 years, he was a professor of New Testament and head of the Biblical Department of the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, where he also founded the Institute of Middle Eastern New Testament Studies. The day will include workshops. Cost is $25 the day of the event.
Caring for Creation
CANFIELD
Laudato si’, Caring for Our Common Home, is the second encyclical of Pope Francis. “Caring for Creation” programs are planned at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road. The Rev. Bob Bonnot, pastor of Christ Our Savior Parish in Struthers, will address the topic “From Right Thinking to Right Action: Care for Our Common Home,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Bernard Survil, who began a tree-planting program while at a Mayan parish in Guatemala, will speak from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 29 on the same topic. Donation is $5 for each program.
