Police: Worker shoots boss at Pennsylvania taxicab company

GLENSIDE, Pa. (AP) — Police say an employee shot a supervisor at a taxicab company in the Philadelphia suburbs, and police were continuing to search for the shooter.

Montgomery County emergency dispatchers say a man was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital in serious condition after the shooting at Montco Suburban Taxi Co. in Glenside. The victim’s condition could not immediately be confirmed because authorities weren’t releasing the victim’s name.

The shooting happened about 1:30 p.m. today.

Nobody was answering the phone at the taxicab company. Abington Township police expected to release more information later in the day.

Philadelphia Montessori Charter school was under an unofficial lockdown as a precaution. The school planned to remain shut until police advise it’s safe.
