The Rev. Richard Murphy, president of Ursuline High School, blessed the school’s renovated science wing in a ceremony this morning.
Father Murphy sprinkled holy water throughout the room, blessing the room as place of learning.
“We dedicate this room to the sound education of our youth, to the progress of science and to learning,” he said.
The $200,000 first phase of the project involved a complete gutting of the chemistry lab and replacing it with new ceiling, flooring, lighting, desks and equipment.
The project was funded by the Cafaro Family Foundation. Olsavsky Jaminet Architects desinged the new classroom and the A.P. O’Horo Co. completed the work.
