Weathersfield police thank other departments in bank robbery case

MINERAL RIDGE

The Weathersfield Township Police Department has charged Robert T. Porter IV, 40, of Struthers Road in New Middletown in the July 20 robbery of Farmer’s National Bank, 3826 state Route 46.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, the police department said on its Facebook page, but it’s unclear when he will make his first court appearance.

Weathersfield police thanked the Austintown Police Department, Boardman Township Police Department, Poland Township Police Department and Adult Parole for their help in identifying Porter.

Police described the robber as wearing a curly wig and gray sweat pants, but he had no covering on his face and did not appear to have a gun or other weapon.

Porter was indicted last month in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on five counts of receiving stolen property.
