$2M bail set for man charged in death of woman in Ohio

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) — A judge has set bail at $2 million for a man charged with murder in the death of a woman whose body was found dangling from a chain-link fence in a southern Ohio city.

Chillicothe Law Director Sherri Rutherford says bail was set today for 27-year-old Donnie Cochenour Jr. in Chillicothe Municipal Court and Cochenour pleaded not guilty.

A public defender will be appointed for Cochenour. A message was left today at the public defender’s office in Chillicothe.

Authorities hadn’t released the name of the woman whose body was found Tuesday.

The body was found in the same city where police have been investigating a string of suspicious deaths and disappearances of local women. Police have said they have no evidence to suggest this case is connected.
