Mercedes Benz stolen in Liberty found in Youngstown

LIBERTY — After a man reported a stolen Mercedes Benz to township police over the weekend, Youngstown police found the vehicle Monday abandoned at a vacant lot on West Woodland Avenue on Youngstown's South Side with its wheels and trim removed.

The car's owner said the vehicle, which was taken from a garage on Mansell Drive, had a push-button start, which would have allowed someone to take the car while the keys were inside it.

Additionally, it appeared that someone had broken into the garage by smashing a window with a rock, according to a police report.
