A majority of the Kmart Distribution Center workers voted against a new contract Sunday.
Sixty-one percent of the membership voted down the new contract offer.
The center, at 541 Perkins Jones Road NE, has about 220 workers.
This is the second time the workers voted down the contract offer with Kmart.
Glenn Johnson, president of United Auto Workers Local 1112, the union that represents the workers at the center, said the workers have several issues with the new contract, but he would not go into detail as negotiations will continue.
“Hopefully, we can sit down and talk with Kmart and come up with some understanding that will be accepted by the membership,” Johnson said.
Workers first voted down a contract offer in early September.
