AUCTIONS

Immaculate Heart of Mary Social Concerns Group will host a quarter auction Saturday in the parish center at 4500 Norquest Blvd. in Austintown. The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the auction will begin at 7. Take a beverage and snacks for your table. Coffee, dessert, pop and water will be provided. Volunteers of Trumbull County Pound and Community will sponsor “Going To The Dogs” quarter auction Thursday at the Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, Austintown. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the auction at 6:30. Tickets are $5 and include soft drink, bidding paddle, light snack and door prize ticket. Pizza slices will be $1. St. Rose Church will have a quarter auction from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Rosetta Hall (the lower church), 48 E. Main St., Girard. Admission is $5. Advance tickets are being sold and space is limited. This Means War Against Breast Cancer is hosting a basket auction to help a breast cancer survivor with three young girls to pay her medical bills. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Southington Chalker High School, 2482 state Route 534. Admission is free and auction tickets will be two for $1 or 60 for $25. BINGO/CARD PARTIES

Women’s Altar and Rosary Guild of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will have a card party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the church hall. There will be over 100 door prizes, table prizes, a basket auction, and a light lunch. Tickets can be purchased from guild members or at the door for $5. Take your own playing cards and board games.

FESTIVALS

Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., will host its 75th Annual Fall Festival and Bazaar from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Specials on Saturday include a cafeteria-style luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., children’s carnival games area for ages 5 to 10, and child care for ages 2 to 4. The event is open to the public with free admission. Proceeds will benefit Operation Blessing, Canfield Care Net, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, CUMC Preschool and various church ministries.

FLEA MARKETS

Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown, will host a flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and each Tuesday into October, weather permitting. Vendors can set up early in the large spaces, which cost $5 each. Refreshments are available.

NIGHTS AT THE RACES

Friends of Fido and Legacy Dog Rescue will be host a Night at the Races on Nov. 6 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian, Austintown. The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the first race will begin at 7. Admission is $10. In addition to the basket auction, there will be a 50-50 raffle, lottery tree, and food and alcohol for sale. SALES

First Christian Church, 140 E. Broadway Ave., Girard, will sponsor a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. A light lunch is planned. A half-price sale will start at noon.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for the entire family. Many new fall items are available. Surprise sales will invite customers to pull a ticket in-store and receive a percentage off their purchase. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday.

First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. There will also be a bake sale Friday, and Saturday is $1 a bag day.

Pumpkins for Pups is a fundraiser to pay for veterinary care for dogs at Trumbull County Dog Pound. Pumpkins, cornstalks and other fall items will be sold Oct. through 17 at the pound, 7501 Anderson Ave., Howland; hours are from 9:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. It is sponsored by volunteers at the dog pound.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Quilting Angels Quilt Guild will host its eighth annual tea and luncheon, “Red, White, Blue and You,” at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Bistro at MCCTC, 7300 Palmyra Road, Canfield. Cost is $15 and is nonrefundable. There will be a basket auction, 50-50 raffle, luncheon, cookie table, favors, table prizes and a show-and-tell. The group supports the Wounded Warrior Project. TRIPS

New Hope United Methodist Youth, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, are sponsoring a bus trip to Amish country from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24. There will be breakfast at the Dutch Valley Restaurant and visits to the Amish flea market and bakery, shopping in Berlin, a variety show at the Amish Theater and dinner at an Amish home.
