Power expected to be restored shortly to thousands of FirstEnergy customers

Service is expected to be restored in the next 30 minutes to roughly 6,400 Ohio Edison customers in the Youngstown area who are without power.

The outage – which a FirstEnergy spokesman said has affected 2,000 customers in Austintown, 1,700 in Youngstown and some in Boardman and Canfield – was caused by an equipment problem at a Youngstown sub-station this morning.
