The Dorothy Day House of Hospitality opened Nov. 22, 2009, and was made possible through the Catholic Worker Initiative. Sister Ann McManamon is director. It is a joint effort of her order, Sisters of the Humility of Mary, and the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown.
Location: 620 Belmont Ave., Youngstown.
Services: Free meals are available from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; about 100 to 125 meals are served each day. Provides showers from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays. About 75 volunteers assist at the house at meals, in the garden and other activities.
Roundtable: Discussions of social-justice issues take place at 7 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month.
