The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership (MYCAP), 1325 Fifth Ave., will have the following information sessions for the Workforce Development Program of 2015 where work skills are taught: 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Oct. 19, 20 and 21; and 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 22.
The information sessions give an outline of what is covered in the class, details of the program and what is expected from each participant. Candidates interested in the Oct. 28 class must attend only one of the informational sessions. Class space is limited.

Campaign for Alzheimer’s

The Home Instead Senior Care office serving Northeast Ohio recently launched the Alzheimer’s Friendly Business program.
The Home Instead Senior Care office will provide free training to local businesses to help equip employees with information and resources needed to welcome families who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease.

Good Evening, Boardman event

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a Good Evening, Boardman event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, 7463 South Ave., Boardman.
Speakers include: Tim Saxton, director of operations for Boardman Schools; Joyce Mistovich, Boardman Park commissioner; Larry Moliterno, Boardman Township trustee; and Lori Reda, director of marketing and business development, Southern Park Mall.

BWC safety conference
Jefferson
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Northeast Safety Conference and Expo in Ashtabula on Friday will offer area employers an opportunity to learn about improving the safety and health of their workforce.
BWC’s Youngstown Service Office is partnering with the Ashtabula County Safety Council, Jefferson Area Local School District and the Ashtabula County Technical and Career Campus (A-Tech) to sponsor the event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jefferson Area High School, 207 W. Mulberry St., Jefferson.
Employers can earn credit for BWC programs for attending certain classes.
