Garden Forum releases flower show results

The Garden Forum’s Horticulture Show took place Sept. 19 at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek Park. The show chairman was Sheila Bowman and judges were Pearl Marlos, Bev Patrick and Esther Bertch.

Blue ribbons in Design were won by Gleaners Garden Club members Pearl Marlos and Beverly Italiano. Horticulture blue ribbon winners were Yvonne Fayard, Sheila Bowman, Marge Lardas, Cindy Salerno and Rosemary Fuller of Nature Lovers; Mary Lou Flere, Marlos, Joyce Dunbar and Italiano of Gleaners; Debra Werner of Hubbard Jr. Garden Club; and Joyce Habeger of Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society.

Special awards were given to Bowman, Nature Lovers in Horticulture; and Marlos, Gleaners in Design.

Stephen Soltis and Liching Linkous, public participants, and Bowman of Nature Lovers, received appreciation awards for their unique and unusual plant material.
