YOUNGSTOWN

Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., will mark its 87th anniversary at 4 p.m. Oct. 18 with guest speaker the Rev. Sylvia Jennings of Oak Baptist Church.

Program on Psalms

BOARDMAN

Dr. John Vance will present “A Weekend with the Psalms” at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 471 Matthews Road.

He served as senior pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rock Tavern, N.Y., for 25 years before retiring in 2013.

Programs at 7 p.m. today will be on Psalms 8, 19, 29, 65, 104 and 148. Sunday presentations will be at 9:30 a.m. on Psalms 42, 51, 58, 86 and 130; 11 a.m. on Psalm 77; and 6:30 p.m. on Psalms 78, 92, 105, 111, 116, 136 and 139.

Baptist convention

YOUNGSTOWN

Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., will host the Ohio Baptist State Convention’s 97th annual session from Tuesday through Friday.

The event will include workshops Wednesday through Friday with Dr. Avan Odom on “Partnering with the Pastor” and Dr. Rosalind Osgood on “The Importance of Women in Ministry.” Worship services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday with host Pastor Michael Harrison offering the annual address the concluding day.

The 50th anniversary of the beatification of St. Sharbel Makhlouf will be marked by Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, St. Maron Church and Antonine Sisters at 6 p.m. Monday at the shrine, 2759 N. Lipkey Road, with reception and veneration of relics and Divine Liturgy; Tuesday will be veneration at 9 a.m., Divine Liturgy at noon, Divine Mercy chaplet at 3 p.m. and prayer at 6 p.m.; and Wednesday, veneration at 9 a.m., rosary at noon; chaplet at 3 p.m.; and pontifical Divine Liturgy at 6.

Guest speaker

Bethesda Ministries, 12740 W. South Range Road, will host the Rev. John and Filese Hauser from Son Grace Music Minstries, Oklahoma City, Okla., at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. There will be worship and teaching; an offering will be received.

“Coming Together As One 2015” is the anniversary theme of Bridging of the Spirit Christian Center, 3024 Myron Ave.

Pastor Kenneth Riddle of Living Word Church in Campbell will speak at 7 p.m. Friday.

Apostle C.S. Johnson, presiding prelate of New Life Christian Centre International, Antioch, Calif., will speak at 5 p.m. Oct. 17.

Praise and worship will be provided by Gordan Austin and Higher Praise of New Castle, Pa. Bishop Calvin Penny is host pastor. An offering will be received.
