WARREN

Seven people accused of driving their off-road vehicles on Trumbull County roads Aug. 30 and refusing to stop for police have been indicted on charges that could result in prison terms.

A Trumbull County grand jury indicted the seven Thursday. Six, all from outside Trumbull County, were indicted on a single count of failure to comply with the order of a police officer.

They are Louis P. Christian III, 20, of Akron; Kyle Lee, 24, of Columbus; Virgil Williams, 21, of Akron; Lawrence D. Hemphill, 29, of Cleveland; Antonio D. Gay, 26, of Cleveland; and Tyrina M. Henderson, 24, of Cleveland.

The seventh, Trevor S. Hall, 21, of Buena Vista Avenue Northeast in Warren, was indicted on two counts of failure to comply. If convicted, each person could get several years in prison.

They are scheduled for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 20 by Judge Ronald Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

A boy, 17, was charged in Trumbull County Juvenile Court with failure to comply.

Shantel Lawler, 25, of Akron, was convicted in Warren Municipal Court on Sept. 24 of misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct after it was reduced from a felony.

About 70 people were observed participating in the “bike life” event. Some were seen doing “wheelies” and taking up all lanes of travel, including lanes coming the opposite direction on Route 422 in Warren, police said.

Many of the people charged were apprehended near the Trumbull Career and Technical Center in Champion, where some had parked trailers and motor vehicles used to bring the dirt bikes and four-wheelers to the area.
