Valley’s used car sales down in September, new car sales up

Local auto sales for the month of September were down by 3.1 percent year over year with used car sales taking a hit.

New sales in the Mahoning Valley were up 2.7 percent, according to data released Thursday by the Automobile Dealers Association of Northeastern Ohio.

Used sales in the valley were down 7.4 percent in September.

The numbers are compiled from titles processed at county title departments by the final business day each month.

Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown; Sweeney Chevrolet in Boardman and Taylor Kia of Boardman were the top three sellers for new and used vehicles during the month.
