Woman arrested at Liberty Walmart for heroin possession

GIRARD

A woman was arraigned today in Girard Municipal Court on charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft. Liberty Police arrested Sierra Whitney, 29, of Youngstown at a Walmart on Goldie Road after responding to a call about suspected shoplifting. A police report states that Whitney was holding a folded piece of paper and a straw, which both contained a powdery substance that tested positive for heroin. Whitney also had an active warrant through Liberty Township for failure to appear on a theft charge, police said. Whitney’s next court appearance is set for Oct. 14.
