Pennant gets new member
SPRINGFIELD
Columbia Pipeline Group Inc. and Columbia Pipeline Partners LP recently announced that Three Rivers Midstream LLC, an affiliate of Williams Partners, has become a member of Pennant Midstream LLC, a joint venture between affiliates of Columbia Midstream Group LLC and Harvest Pipeline Co.
Pennant owns the Springfield Hickory Bend processing plant and related gathering systems in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
The executed agreement nearly triples the acreage dedicated to Pennant to about 500,000 acres and results in the addition of investment-grade producers, positioning Pennant to be a leading long-term midstream services provider in the Mahoning Valley.
Cortland Banks ribbon-cutting
CANFIELD
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. Thursday for the new Cortland Banks location, 3615 Boardman-Canfield Road.
The full-service branch, constructed by The Murphy Contracting Co. of Youngstown, will house mortgage, commercial, retail and wealth-management services.
Entrepreneur conference set

The City of New Castle’s Department of Community and Economic Development, in partnership with the Franklin Center of Beaver County Inc. and Penn State Extension, will have the second annual regional entrepreneur conference – Entrepreneur 2.0: Growing Momentum to 2025 – on Oct. 16.
The conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 110 East Lincoln Avenue, New Castle, Pa.

Ryan seeks relief for industry, workers
WASHINGTON
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, on Tuesday urged the U.S. International Trade Commission to provide relief to the line-pipe industry and its workers so that they can continue to compete now and into the future.
Ryan wrote about ongoing antidumping and countervailing duty investigations on imports of certain welded line pipe from Korea and Turkey.
Data-sharing pact with US ruled invalid by court
LUXEMBOURG
Europe’s top court on Tuesday declared invalid a 15-year-old pact allowing the unfettered transfer of personal data outside the European Union’s 28 countries.
The case was brought by an Austrian law student in the wake of revelations by former U.S. National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden of the extent of the NSA’s surveillance programs.
