Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $8. No reservations are necessary. Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will have a takeout cavatelli dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Meal comprises cavatelli with homemade sauce, two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter and dessert for $9. Cavatelli with one meatball will be $5. Pasta fagioli will be $6 per quart and pasta sauce, $5 per quart. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.

THURSDAY

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have its monthly drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The dinner includes potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie for $7 per dinner. Drive up to the door and someone will take the dinners to your car. Call 330-549-2588 to reserve your dinners. Leave your name, phone number, the number of dinners you want and approximate time you will arrive. A percentage of the profits is used for local mission projects.

Grace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, is having a drive-through stuffed chicken dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The cost is $7 each. Dinners include mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and a brownie. Also for sale are pepperoni rolls for $2 each. To reserve your dinner or try a pepperoni roll call 330-792-5889 and leave the approximate time you will pick up your order. You don’t have to get out of your car.

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary. Prices are $7 for adults, $3.50 for children under 12 and $7 for carryout. Meals include meatballs, salad, Italian bread and coffee or tea.

FRIDAY

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at beginning at 8 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up beginning at noon.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for freshly made each week potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6.50 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins welcome. Use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 State Route 46, will serve a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. for a donation.

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will serve a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Donations will be accepted; proceeds will benefit World Service Projects.

Solace of the Valley will serve a spaghetti dinner from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets for adults are $8 and for children under 10, $6. Dinner will include meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and drink. All proceeds go to Solace of the Valley. There also will be basket auctions and raffles.

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will host an Oktoberfest German dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The dinner comprises pork loin roast with gravy, spaetzle (German dumplings), sweet and sour red cabbage, homemade chunky applesauce and Black Forest cherry cake. The cost is $9 for adults and $6 for children under 12 for dine-in or takeout.

SUNDAY

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Prices are $7.50 for adults and $5 for children. All carryouts are $7.50; containers are 75 cents or you can provide your own. The Mothers of the Crucifix Society will have a bake sale during the dinner.

Pacentrano Club, 2629 Craiger Ave., Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. every Sunday during football season. The dinners are $8 each for takeout or sitdown. For information or to place takeout orders call 330-788-3393.

St. Stanislaus Catholic War Veterans Post 1222 Auxiliary will serve stuffed cabbage dinners from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown. The meal will include two cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and butter and dessert. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 10. Takeouts are available.

UPCOMING

Berlin Center United Methodist Church, 15611 Akron-Canfield Road, will serve a turkey dinner Oct. 21. Dining room seatings are at 4:45, 5:45 and 6:45 p.m. Carryouts will be available beginning at 4:30. The cost is $10 for adults and children 11 and older, $5 for those 6 to 10 and free for kids 5 and under. Reservations are required for all meals, including carryout.
