Johanna Slivinske of Cortland, an instructor, author and therapist, will attend today’s first Worker Voice Summit at the White House.

Slivinske, an adjunct faculty member at Youngstown State University, was invited to the event by President Barack Obama.

She is the co-author of two therapy books, a therapist at PsyCare in Howland and associate editor for the journal Reflections.

The Worker Voice Summit will focus on how workers can make their voices heard in the workplace in ways that are positive for workers and businesses. It will generate ideas for strengthening the middle class in America.

Obama will speak at the summit and participate in a town-hall meeting with participants.

The president’s remarks and town hall, as well as the East Room programming, will be live-streamed at www.whitehouse.gov/live.
