Mancini to speak at career initiative

LIBERTY

Love My Career, a social initiative designed to inspire Valley residents to get the job training they need, will host an event Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at National College, 3487 Belmont Ave. featuring boxing champion Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini and actor Daniel Rios.

Admission is free, but call 330-759-0205 to register.

After his boxing career, Mancini began several business ventures, including a wine, book deals and a movie production company.

Rios is a local businessman who has branched into acting, landing small roles in several major movies, including “Spider-man 3,” “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Warriors.”

Both men will share their career story at Thursday’s event.

Music at Noon at Butler museum

YOUNGSTOWN

The Music at Noon series at the Butler Institute of American Art will continue in October. All performances feature students and faculty from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, and begin at 12:15 p.m. Wednesdays. For information, call 330-941-2307.

Oct. 21: Tuba-euphonium recital
