For the second time in less than six weeks, an inmate was found hanged in his cell in the Mahoning County jail.
Colin Anzevino, 21, was found unresponsive in his cell Sunday morning and was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, according to Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene.
Anzevino pleaded guilty to an aggravated-robbery charge in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in September. Police said he and two other men broke into a home on Oakland Boulevard in Struthers in April. The three forced their way into the home, took 17 guns and also stabbed the homeowner.
Kevin P. Burkey, 50, of Lowellville died by hanging in his cell Aug. 25. He was jailed on a charge of theft and dangerous drugs from St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Two Mahoning County deputies were suspended for improperly leaving their posts for breaks when Burkey committed suicide.
